We hear a ton of talk these days about the power of authenticity. It's a good thing too because it's true. You've got to infuse everything you do with the real you, including your marketing. On this episode of the podcast, Dean and I are talking with Dave Lindenbaum - a guy who does everything in his marketing and kombucha business with absolute authenticity. All you have to do is look at his websites to see that he pulls it off every time.

You’ll never know what you’re capable of if you don’t step out and try.

Many people who get into the entrepreneurial space understand that they've got to market in order to make their business succeed. But what many of them shy away from is putting their own face on camera or becoming the personality of their brand. Today's guest, Dave Lindenbaum tells us how important it is to be the real you when you market your products or services. Whether you get on camera or not your personality and uniqueness need to come across in order to build the trust that motivates purchases. Dave is one of those guys who has stumbled upon something great here, so make sure you listen to hear his advice.

The thing you’re dreaming to do may not be THE thing you wind up doing.

Almost every entrepreneur starts out with a dream for what it is he or she wants to do. But Dave Lindenbaum says that most of the time the thing you're dreaming to do does not wind up being THE thing you do. That's because discovering your true purpose or the thing you were meant to do requires trial and error. You've got to try something to see if it works, then pivot if it doesn't. It's that process, sometimes done over and over that takes you to the place where you love the thing that you do. Dave's story is a great example of that and you'll get to hear it, albeit in a somewhat convoluted way, on this episode.

Nobody can be you except you, so do it like only you can do it.

It doesn't work to be a copycat marketer or a “me too” kind of company. You've got to be unique. You've got to be you. On this episode of Just The Tips our guest, Dave Lindenbaum tells us his story - how he went from working in corporate in New York City to establishing his own brands and services on the West Coast. He's an example of what you have to do sometimes, learn how to speak in your own unique voice and offer something to the world that only you can offer. Dave's advice is that you have to get started if you want to discover what it is you are supposed to do.

The lifestyle freedom you want as an entrepreneur begins with freedom in your mind.

Most of us who get into the entrepreneurial lifestyle do so because we want a greater amount of freedom in our lives. We don't want a boss telling us what we have to do. We don't want someone telling us when we have to be at work and when we can take off. We want to make those decisions for ourselves. But Dave Lindenbaum makes the point in this conversation that before you can experience that kind of freedom in the work you do, you have to first experience it in your mind. It's a dream, and a decision you make to pursue that dream that gives you the drive to keep going when things get tough. Dave has lots of great advice to share so be sure you listen to this conversation.
